Due to the excessive heat that comes with the start and
end of school in the desert, Oliphant has established an
excessive heat policy. It is a combination of humidity
and temperature and is monitored by the school
administration and communicated out to the
classrooms throughout the instructional day. In most
cases, the policy will go into effect when the temperature reaches above 105
degrees at the discretion of the school’s administration.
Once identified as a heat day students will be escorted either to the lunch
tables under the misters or the MPR. During lunch time, students will be
escorted to the Lunch area to eat with the misters on. Students will either stay
at the lunch tables or be taken to the MPR for an activity. Lunch activities will
be monitored by our School Site Monitor staff.
Should you have questions or concerns about the school’s excessive heat
policy, please feel free to contact the office at 760-834-3231.
